William Cowan William Cowan The funeral is at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at Musgrove Family Center in Eugene for William Luther “Bill” Cowan of Eugene, who died Oct. 1 of complications from pancreatitis. He was 86. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at Musgrove Family Center. He was born Sept. 14, 1923, in Gresham to William and Emma Burns Cowan. He married Kathleen Keithley on Jan. 19, 1945, in Portland. She died Nov. 17, 1977. He married Marilyn Feldner on March 30, 1998, in Reno, Nev. She died Aug. 31, 2003. He served in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific during World War II and was discharged as a corporal. He went into the Air National Guard Reserves and eventually retired as a senior master sergeant. He owned a gas station in Portland and worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring as vehicle maintenance manager. He also owned a backyard auto body repair shop, drove for Avis Rent a Car and delivered Eugene Weekly. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Wilson of Milwaukie and Mykal Taylor of Eugene; a son, Andrew of Eugene; four stepchildren; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
