Wayne A. Ochampaugh, 86, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025. He was born in Amsterdam, NY on March 12, 1939 to the late Elwyn Ochampaugh and Doris Hime.
Wayne served our country in the Navy, and received an honorable discharge. After his service he was an established Electrician, leatherworker and co-owner of a roofing company.
Wayne loved to travel all over the place and completed one dream to visit Alaska. He loved to spend time with his family for holidays, celebrations and for casual visits. Wayne played many card games all his life, his favorite was playing pitch. Wayne found a lot of joy and comfort listening to music from his favorite orchestra to other artists. Wayne was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns. Wayne was true to his faith by attending church every chance he got.
Wayne was also a member of the Moose Club where he enjoyed music, games and spending time with his friends!
Wayne is survived by his children, Steve Ochampaugh of Gloversville, Susan Rockafellow (Mark) of Lancaster, PA and Sharon Miller of Fredericksburg, VA.
Wayne is survived by his sisters, Gloria Broderick, Johnstown, NY and Claudia Burlett of Johnstown, NY.
Wayne is survived by his loving grandchildren, Mark S. Rockafellow, Kyle E. Rockafellow, Kaylee S. Miller and Ashlee A. Miller; along with his great grandchildren, Kylie, Kamden and Killian Rockafellow. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger, and Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A service will take place at the funeral home at 11:00 AM with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, 296 Martin Road, Fonda.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger, and Stewart Family Funeral Homes.
