Vickie Vigna

Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.

Vickie was born on February 28th, 1956, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Glenn (RIP) and Shirley (RIP) Bethke.  Vickie passed away on September 18th, 2024, surrounded by family at Hospice of the Valley in Glendale, Arizona.

Vickie's brother, Rick Bethke (RIP), was born before her parents divorced when she was young.  Glenn remarried in February 1964 to Sharon Grunewaldt, and sisters Lisa (m. Jim Heyn), Robyn (m. Rob Frease), Michelle (RIP) and Melody (m. Vin Perry) were born, and brother, Lee Bethke (m. Pam Madsen).  Glenn and Sharon divorced in 1977.  Vickie's family was extended when Sharon remarried in 1980 to Corky Richie (RIP) adding sisters, Laurie (m. Bill Bickle) and Leslie (m. Keith Reuer), and brother, Jason (m. Leslie Perry).  Vickie met and fell for Nick Vigna Jr., Navy Veteran in 1975.  Daughter, Amber Lea Vigna, was born April 6th, 1976, in Dell Rapids.  Nick and Vickie were married in Dell Rapids on March 26th, 1977, and moved to Phoenix, Arizona for their honeymoon.  Son, Nicholas Joseph Vigna III, was born on August 27th, 1978, in Phoenix, Arizona.  Vickie worked as a hairdresser, and then in 1985 became the warehouse manager for Ace Phoenix until they closed in 2005.  The following years until retirement in 2018 she had a couple jobs where she made lifelong friends.  Since retiring Vickie and Nick have RV'd across the country (50K+ miles) visiting many landmarks, friends and family with their dogs Foxy (RIP) and Bleu.  Vickie loved spending time at the Dunes with family and friends, her summer stays in South Dakota, fishing (as a tag-along), babysitting, baking/cooking, reading, puzzles, popcorn and had a passion for mowing grass!

Vickie is survived by her husband of 47 years, Nick Vigna Jr.; her beloved children, Amber Lea Echelberger (m. Brandon), Nick Vigna III (m. Kimi); grandchildren, Wyatt and Braxton Echelberger; her loving dog, Bleu, and granddogs, Mazzy and Mally.
