Tony Mack Sutherland

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Tony Mack Sutherland, who departed this life on September 15, 2024, at his residence in Frankfort, Kentucky. Born on February 20, 1941, in Frankfort, Kentucky, Tony was a beloved figure whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

Tony proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy. Post his service, he contributed significantly to his community through his role as a Warehouse Supervisor for Sylvania, where he was known for his dedication and leadership. Tony's life was enriched by his passions and interests. He was an ardent sports enthusiast with a particular fondness for UK basketball. His love for golf, playing cards, and shooting pool brought him many joyful moments and cherished memories with family and friends. 

Tony is survived by his daughter, Kim Borwig (John) of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, and his son, Anthony Todd Sutherland (Maria) of Frankfort, Kentucky. He also leaves behind his two brothers, Dwayne Sutherland (Joyce) of Frankfort, Kentucky and Melvin Sutherland (Pat) of Versailles, Kentucky; his three grandchildren, Blake Borwig, Jarrod Sutherland, and Kaycee Sutherland; and his two great-grandchildren, Nova Grace Sutherland and Elleanna Sutherland. 

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Lon Sutherland and Gladys Wash Sutherland; his devoted wife, Brenda Kay Sutherland; his four brothers: Herman, Billy Scott, Leon, and James Sutherland; his two sisters, Peggy Conway and Joyce Story; and one grandchild, Brianna Borwig. The family takes solace in knowing that Tony is now reunited with them. 

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Clark Legacy Center, 3000 Versailles Road, Frankfort, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Tuesday after 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at Clark Legacy Center. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Frankfort, Kentucky. Military Honors will be conducted at the cemetery, honoring Tony's service and dedication to our country. 

Tony Mack Sutherland's legacy of love, loyalty, and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. Family, friends, and community members are invited to pay their respects and offer their condolences as we remember a life well-lived.
