To say that we will all miss Tom’s feisty wit with heart of gold is an understatement. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to so many. He showed love and support and always knew how to put a smile on the grandkids’ faces. His love, determination and strength always inspired those around him. Although he lived in constant pain, he continued to see the good in people and life all around him. He had a passion for giving, giving more than he received, and would give the shirt off his back if he could.
Tom also had passion for Chicago thin-crust sausage pizza! And he just LOVED Christmas. He brought so much joy with Toys R Us trips with the grandkids, giant donations to Toys for Tots, Christmas cards in the tree, filet mignon for dinner, jokes at Christmas bingo while teasing and annoying Helen, and his amazing Christmas village. He truly was in his element, surrounded by family, by the Christmas tree, watching everyone enjoy each other’s company. In the last couple years, he was in the habit of sending inspiring or funny texts and memes on the family group text, just to brighten all our days or to create playful banter. We will all look back on these memories with love and fondness.
We are all so truly thankful to have been a part of Tom’s life. To celebrate Tom, please join us for a small gathering:
