Thomas H. Russo, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at home surrounded by family.

Born on July 4, 1934, in Gloversville, a son of the late Pasquale and Theresa (Javorone) Russo. A lifelong resident of the area, Tom graduated from Gloversville High School, Class of 1953.

In 2009, Tom retired from Mayfield Central School District, where he taught remedial reading. Once retired, Tom went on to work as a barber for the family business, Barone’s Barber Shop, in Gloversville until recently. In his spare time, he loved to golf and in his younger years, boating. Most of all, Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Antoinette E. Barone, whom he wed in 1953; son, Thomas Russo; daughter, Lucy Sandner (David); grandchildren, Blair, Kendra and Richie (Audrey); great-grandchildren, Fisher and Tommy; sister-in-law, Rita. Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his sister, Caroline; brothers, Peter, Joseph, Nicholas, Anthony, Harry and Jerry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 11am at Church of the Holy Spirit, 153 S. Main Street, Gloversville with Fr. Matthew Wetsel officiating, where a calling hour will be held prior beginning at 10am.

Tom’s care has been entrusted to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
