Obituary

Thomas Joseph Brennan Jr. (“Tom”), age 78, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, at his home in Sun City, Florida. Tom was born on February 1, 1947, to Thomas Joseph Brennan Sr. and Marion Brennan, and was raised in Belle Harbor, Queens. He was raised with strong values of faith, family, and hard work that guided him throughout his life. Tom attended St. Bonaventure University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 1969. He went on to build a successful career in finance, working for Price Waterhouse and later Chase Manhattan Bank, where he was respected for his integrity, dedication, and professionalism. A man of many passions, Tom was an avid golfer and a cherished member of the Frogs and Shanks golf groups at Club Renaissance in Sun City, where he formed lasting friendships. In his younger years, he was also a pioneer surfer, among the first to surf Rockaway Beach, New York, alongside his close friend John Roberts. Tom also generously gave his time to volunteering, believing deeply in giving back to his community. Above all, Tom was devoted to his family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas Joseph Brennan Sr. and Marion Brennan. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne Brennan; his sons, Thomas Brennan and his wife, Shannon, and Brian Brennan and his partner, Anna; his brother, Robert Brennan; his sister, Tracey Brennan; and his four grandchildren, Thomas, Andrew, Ryan, and Caroline. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

A Funeral Mass was held on February 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. EST at St. Anne Catholic Church, Ruskin, Florida ( saintanneruskin.org ).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) or the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) .
