Terry Jenson, 71, of Aurora, CO, went to be with the Lord on November 1st, 2024. Terry passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children and grandchildren, leaving a legacy of persistence, forgiveness, resilience, and faith. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, and brother.
Preceded in death by his mother, Aretta Jenson, he is survived by his father, Vernon Jenson; his sister, Sherry (Dan) Kauphusman; his brother, Tom (Laurel) Jenson; his children, Jeremiah (Dana) Jenson, Anne (Mike) Begley, and Peter (Heather) Jenson; and his cherished grandchildren, Molly and Emily Jenson, Joseph, Daniel, and Claire Begley, Colton Frost-Bryant, Abby, and Chase Jenson.
An avid pianist, Terry filled the halls of his retirement facility each weekday at 1 p.m., bringing joy to many with his music. He inspired others through classical pieces by Bach and Mozart but especially through hymns that spread the love of Christ. Psalm 98:4-6.
A lifelong sports lover, Terry played sports in high school and college and went on to coach basketball and baseball in his 20s. As a father, he encouraged his children to participate in school sports, instilling them with a strong work ethic and a love of teamwork and sportsmanship. His optimism and unshakeable persistence defined him throughout his career as a math teacher, principal, and later as a business owner of a sign company and then a window-cleaning business. Terry faced every challenge with quiet strength and never gave up, not even in his final moments.
Family gatherings were never dull with Terry around. From lively water balloon fights to spirited card games, he kept everyone on their toes, filling the room with laughter and leaving behind a trove of funny stories that will live on in our hearts.
Terry’s energetic warmth left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all those fortunate enough to have shared in his life.
