Teresa Jane Carter Summers, 77, passed away December 19, 2024. She was born March 17, 1947 to C.H. "Bum" and Barbara (Wykert) Carter of Ault. She attended school in Ault until the family relocated to Eaton in 1959. She graduated from Eaton High School in 1965, then attended Colorado State University and Louisiana Tech University.

Teresa married Tommy Summers in 1968 and moved to Rustin, Louisiana. She returned to Colorado in the early 1970s.

Teresa worked at the law office of Hill and Hill where she met her lifelong friend, Jan Trenary. Jan encouraged her to apply for a position at Teledyne Waterpik where she worked until her retirement. Fran Rivers, Mary Hart, Katie Hays and Linda Commito are just a few of the close friendships she nurtured while working at Teledyne and her involvement with the International Association of Administrative Professionals.

Teresa loved the outdoors, spending time with friends in the mountains, hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. She also spent hours working in her yard and garden, which was a source of pride for her. Her other hobbies were sewing and quilting. She made many keepsake quilts for family and friends.

Shortly after her retirement, Teresa was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and spent the remainder of her life at MacKenzie Place and Lemay Health and Rehab in Fort Collins. Throughout her life, Teresa remained kind and sweet despite her disease and declining abilities. She was loved by everyone who crossed her path. Her positive attitude and zest for life are a great example of how we should all live our lives.

Teresa is survived by her son Gregory (Jennifer) Summers, and grandchildren Hailey Jane, Justin and Tyler, brothers Terry (Kathy) Carter and Ted (Sandy) Carter and several close cousins. She is preceded in death by her brother Tommy Carter (her "Hero"), and parents C.H. and Barbara Carter.

She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Teresa's Life Celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2025 at the Adamson Life Celebration Home with a reception to follow.  Memorial gifts may be made to "Alzheimer's Association" in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.   Condolences may be shared at AdamsonCares.com .
