It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terence Walt Berry, who departed this life on October 20, 2024. Born on January 6, 1964, in Los Angeles, California, Terence was a beacon of hope and support for many as an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Therapist and Counselor. He dedicated his life to uplifting those battling addiction, extending a hand of understanding and compassion to everyone he encountered. Terence's educational journey began at Morningside High School in Inglewood, CA. He furthered his studies at California State University, Bakersfield, and Grand Canyon University, reflecting his commitment to personal growth and his profession. His zeal for learning and aiding those in need left an indelible mark on the community he served so passionately.
A devoted husband to Barbara Mitchell-Berry, Terence was also a loving father to Tevin Jackson-Mitchell, Malik Berry, and Antonio Berry. He leaves behind a cherished granddaughter, LaKiyah Jackson-Mitchell, who brought immense joy to his life. Terence's family extended beyond blood, encompassing his brothers Anthony Berry, Sr.; Lodusky McCowen; and Ali McCowen, as well as his sister-in-law Margot Berry. Nieces and nephews, including Terri LaShawn Berry, Anthony Berry Jr., Tyson Berry, Kendra Berry, Ava Berry, La Shawn Berry, LaHaven Berry, Arie Berry, Journey Berry, and Tyson Berry, Jr. He is predeceased by his beloved mother, Roslyn E Berry.
Terence's enduring interests included a fervent support for the Miami Dolphins, a profound love for fishing, and an enthusiasm for all things Marvel—a testament to his vibrant and fun-loving nature. His hobbies reflected his ability to find joy in life's simple pleasures while nurturing a sense of wonder and adventure. His positive influence and warm spirit were cherished by an extended family of lifelong friends, who will remember him not only for his professional achievements but also for his ability to bring smiles and comfort to those around him. Terence's legacy is one of empathy, kindness, and a commitment to bettering the lives of others. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate to know him.
