Tanya Caprice Trujillo

Our Mother's Embrace

Tanya Caprice Trujillo, became our angel, April 2, 2024, after a fifteen day battle of complications with pneumonia. While she took her last breath she was surrounded by loved ones, listening to some of her favorite songs, including "Angel Baby" by Rosie and the Originals, "Dear Mama" by Tupac and "Try Me"by James Brown.  Tanya was born on December 29, 1956, to parents Adeline Jaramillo and Lonnie Coleman. She was one of seven siblings which included six girls and her only brother Aaron. With a family blessed with amazing musical abilities, Tanya grew up loving to sing and dance and would often sing in the mirror to Top of the World by the Carpenters. Growing up in west Denver, she graduated from Manuel High School and went on further to get her Associate's Degree as a Paralegal, from the Community College of Denver, in 1996. Tanya and Julian Trujillo Sr., welcomed five children together; Angela, Julian, Adrien, Damien and Justin Trujillo. After the devastating loss of her only daughter Angela to cancer, Tanya showed true strength when she picked up the pieces of her heart and decided to raise her boys on her own. After the storm, came the silver lining, when she met her soulmate and other half, Rick Munguia. Tanya and Rick shared 28 years of memories together in which, he also gained four bonus sons he could teach mixed martial arts and other valuable lessons to. When Rick passed away May 5, 2023, Tanya was lost without the love of her life. As true love would have it, less than a year later she was reunited with him again in heaven. Tanya loved, Grey's Anatomy, A Star is Born, Leanne Rhymes and Antonio Banderas to say a few. She was a strong, wise and passionate mother and mentor to many who will forever be missed. Now she is forever reunited with her beloved mom and dad, Angela, Spoody, Rick and all of her other loved ones and friends that passed before her, resting in paradise.
