Susan Scott Yearwood, 67, of Cusseta, AL, passed away on April 7, 2025, at Emory

University Hospital in Atlanta. She was born April 16,1957 and was the daughter of the late

Howard Lamar Scott and Kenneth and Melverine Ray Wood.

She attended Beulah High school, was a varsity cheerleader and Miss BHS. After graduating

in 1975, she attended Opelika Technical College.

Susan worked at Farmer”s National Bank for 20 years and then moved to the Orthopaedic

Clinic in the business office.

A lifelong member of Wallace Chapel Baptist Church, she served as the church treasurer.

Susan loved her family. She especially loved being a grandmother to her “girls”

. She brought all

of them to church with her as much as possible.

She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Michel Yearwood, two children, Jennifer McGill

Riley and William Jeremy McGill (Kelsey Deason), four granddaughters, Autumn McGill, Katelyn

Riley, Kaylee McGill, and Miley Deason, one brother Kenneth Scott (Karen, who was Susan’s

best friend for 40 years), three sisters, Cheryl Bishop (Jesse), Carolyn Smith (John), Lisa Scott

Perry, and two stepsisters, Punky Young and Diane Williams.

Susan was predeceased by her parents, brother Denny Scott, stepbrother Michael Wood,

husband Jerry Denim, and grandson Conner Riley.

Visitation is planned for April 19, 2025, 1pm cst, at Wallace Chapel Baptist Church in Cusseta,

AL, A memorial service following at 2pm. Pastor Aaron Pruitt is officiating. Flowers may be

delivered to the church beginning at 11am.
