Stanley A. Leslie, 74, of Schenectady, NY entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 15, 2025 while rehabilitating at the Daughters of Sarah, Albany, NY.
Born in Gloversville, NY on November 1, 1951 he was the son of the late Lillie Mae Leslie. Stanley graduated from Gloversville High School in 1970. Furthering his education, he attended FMCC, SUNY Albany, and graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in English and Social Science in 1975. He began his career with the State of New York working with the adolescents in Fulton County at Tryon Division for Youth. He ended his career with New York State Department of Health as a Senior Analyst, retiring in 2010 with over 30 years of service.
He had many interests and passions which included his love of music, cooking, and trivia. He extended his love of cooking to family and friends making them his famous pizzas and tortellini soup. His love of music led him to become a DJ known as Mr. Stanman throughout the Capital District where he performed at weddings, birthday parties, and various social events and establishments. His love for family and friends was the center of his life. He was also a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. He had so many wonderful friends - you know who you are.
Stanley is survived by his loving brother Thomas C. Leslie of Albany, NY; special niece Patricia Hall-Murray; special nephew Joseph Hall who was like a brother to him; God daughters Donna Jones and Sonna Butler; special cousins Maude Hall and Catherine Brown; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his mother Lillie Mae Leslie; brothers Henry G. Leslie (Ethellene) and Charles Leslie; sisters Christine Hall (Benjamin), Gloria Hall (John), and Marion Stephas (Kenneth).
Stanley will be greatly missed by those he loved and who loved him. He truly loved his home town Gloversville, NY and cherished his life there.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5PM to 7PM on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street Gloversville NY 12078. A second visitation will take place from 10AM to 12PM on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the funeral home, a funeral service will take place immediately following at 12PM. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville, NY.
