Obituary

Shelly Bamrick Perham carried the sweetness of hometown sunlight with her wherever she went. Born on March 22, 1963, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, she grew up with three brothers and loving parents. Shelly moved effortlessly between adventure and grace — spirited and unafraid to keep pace with her brothers, while also carrying a natural elegance that radiated from her, often seen in her fondness for pastel pinks and pearls. Though her nickname came from a playful tune her brothers gave her, Shelly truly was a Belle — carrying a radiant glow and kindness that stayed with her throughout her life.

Shelly had a deep love for being with people, a calling that led her to a successful and meaningful career in the medical field. She worked for many years as a medical assistant in South Carolina and Colorado, serving in a wide range of roles including OB-GYN, primary care, phlebotomy, and as an EMT. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and sincerity touched countless patients and coworkers, and this work naturally gave life to her abundant social circle. While working in South Carolina, Shelly met Kevin Perham. Together, they built a life and made a family in Colorado.

Shelly was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Kaitlyn and Ashley, who were the heart of her everyday life. She showed up for them in every way — sewing Renaissance costumes, handing out cider at their haunted houses, adding joy and magic to every holiday throughout the year, and never missing a band performance or theatre production. She was always there, loudly and lovingly, as “Mom.”

Becoming “Nana” to her cherished granddaughter, Elodie, filled Shelly’s days with joy and purpose. She delighted in watching her grow and treasured every moment spent together.

Shelly was an avid sports fan, fiercely loyal to the Colorado Avalanche, Nebraska Huskers, and the Denver Broncos. Whether cheering for the home team or for her girls and family, she was always the loudest and proudest fan in the room.

Perhaps most treasured was Shelly’s gift for friendship. She was a good friend to so many — the life of the party, the first to offer a hug, endlessly thoughtful and kind, a little stubborn, and incredibly easy to love. Whether it was playing poker, enjoying a country concert, having dinner & margaritas, Shelly enjoyed being with her friends and family. Even when life felt bleak, Shelly offered a gentle reminder of serenity in accepting the things we cannot change, often summed up simply in her own words: “It is what it is.”

Shelly was preceded in death by her former husband, Kevin Perham, and her loving parents, Mike and Donna Bamrick. She is deeply loved and remembered by her brothers Greg, Cory, and Chad Bamrick; her six beloved nieces and nephews; her daughters Kaitlyn Dinner and Ashley Ponder; her son-in-law Brandon Ponder; her most cherished granddaughter, Elodie Edna; and a vast circle of faithful friends who became family.

Shelly passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025. Her warmth, friendship, and steady presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to live on through the love she gave and the lives she touched.
