On Saturday, July 22nd, Sarah Lynn Jakubasz passed away in New York City of complications related to a Glioblastoma. She was five days shy of her 43rd birthday. Sarah is survived by her partner Andy Fritsch; parents Pamela and Steven; and siblings Tracy, Melissa, and Thomas. Sarah was born on July 27th, 1980 in Holyoke, MA. She graduated from South Hadley High School in 1998 and went on to attend University of Massachusetts from which she received a Bachelor of Arts in Theater. Sarah enjoyed a successful career as a lighting designer in theater, television, and live events. Sarah and her partner Andy began their relationship in 2012. Together they enjoyed backpacking, traveling, gardening, spending time in the country in upstate New York, and exploring all that NYC has to offer. Sarah was passionate about biking, birds (particularly owls and hummingbirds), canning and jam making, restoring cast iron, and cooking. A celebration of Sarah's life will be held at the Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center on Saturday, October 7th, 2023 from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm.
