IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra Lee
Mokros
July 14, 1944 – January 18, 2025
In the eloquent tapestry of life, there are souls who enrich our world with their presence, their wisdom, and their kindness. Sandra "Sandy" Lee Mokros, née Eizonas, was such a soul. Born on July 14, 1944, in Youngstown, Ohio, Sandy's journey through life was a testament to the virtues of caring and dedication. Her indefatigable spirit left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.
As an exemplary educator, Sandy devoted her life to nurturing young minds, sharing her passion and knowledge both at South Range Elementary in North Lima, Ohio, and Ruskin Elementary in Ruskin, Florida. Her ambition and drive led her to pursue a Bachelor of Science and a Master's in Education from Youngstown State University, graduating summa cum laude—a testament to her intellect and determination.
Sandy's life was also a celebration of family and love. Loving wife to Kenneth Mokros who preceded her in death. Cherished mother to Richard Mokros and Michael Mokros, beloved mother-in-law to Yoli and Carrie Mokros, and adored grandmother to Nash, Andrew, and Hayes Mokros, her relations were as vast as her heart was kind. Her brothers, Tom and Bob Eizonas and her sister-cousin Roseanne Luknis join in mourning her passing. Her brother John Eizonas preceded her in death.
Despite her many achievements, Sandy will be remembered most for her energetic spirit and unwavering honesty. She was a woman of profound loyalty and boundless consideration, always placing the needs of others above her own. Sandy's love for reading enriched both her life and the lives of those around her, painting her world with the colors of a lifelong learner.
Sandy's final days were spent in Lithia, Florida, where she passed away on January 18, 2025. Her departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, yet her legacy shines brightly through her family and the countless lives she touched as an educator and a friend.
Approach this moment to reflect on her remarkable life with the eloquence and gratitude that Sandy herself would have cherished. We hold her memory in our hearts, forever grateful for her contribution to our lives and the indelible impact she has left on the world.
**Rest in peace, Sandy, your legacy endures.**
