IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Salvatore Stephen
Intrieri
September 3, 1950 – September 6, 2025
Salvatore Stephen Intrieri Jr. was born on September 3, 1950, and raised in Mount Kisco and Bedford Hills, New York by his parents, Teresa Amuso and Salvatore Intrieri Sr. He attended Fox Lane High School, graduating in 1968, and went on to complete a two-year program at the College of Aeronautics. Guided by his deep Catholic faith, Sal answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Marine Corps in 1970. Over the course of four years, he advanced to the rank ofSergeant, serving proudly as a marksman and as an aircraft mechanic on the iconic F-4 Phantom fighter jet. He was honorably discharged in 1974, carrying forward the values of discipline, honor, and integrity that would define the rest of his life.
In 1977, three years after his military service, Sal married the love of his life, Jeanne Adele Skutnik, at a beautiful wedding hosted at his parents’ home in Bedford Hills, New York. Together, they built a strong and loving family. In 1982, they welcomed their first child, Stephen, followed by their daughter Samantha in 1987. The family lived for many years in South Salem, New York on the shores of Lake Waccabuc, where Sal and Jeanne raised their children.
Professionally, Sal devoted his career to sales and business leadership, becoming a respected figure in the lawn and garden industry. He spent decades with Arett Sales Corporation of Cherry Hill, New Jersey where his relentless work ethic and keen business mind propelled him to the position of Vice President of Sales. Sal negotiated and secured multi-million-dollar contracts with Fortune 500 companies including Home Depot, Lowe’s, AutoZone, and Amazon — achievements that grew into billion-dollar partnerships lasting long beyond his retirement. Known for his ability to go toe-to-toe with the industry’s top leaders, Sal left a lasting imprint on Arett Sales and on the broader industry as a man of vision, strategy, and integrity.
After retiring in 2020, Sal and Jeanne relocated to Ruskin, Florida, where they embraced a new chapter of life surrounded by their children and grandchildren. In this season, Sal took great joy in spending time with family, cherishing the moments of love and laughter with those closest to him. A man of discipline shaped by the Marines and strengthened by faith, he always placed family, loyalty, and integrity at the center of his life. His beloved wife Jeanne tragically passed away in August of 2022, a loss deeply felt by all who knew her. His legacy lives on in his children, Stephen and Samantha, who proudly carry forward the values and standards he instilled in them.
Salvatore is survived by his son, Stephen Intrieri, his daughter, Samantha Sostillio, his beloved grandchildren, Frankie Jean Sostillio (9), Zachary Salvatore Sostillio (6 months) and his son-in-law, Travis Sostillio, who was at his bedside. He is also survived by his loving sister, Barbara Walkley and her husband Arthur Walkley.
He will forever be remembered as a proud Marine Sergeant, a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a man who lived his life with strength, honor and faith.
