Ruth Elisabeth Dibbern

Ruth Dibbern September 19, 1932 – June 18, 2025

Ruth Dibbern neé Zimmermann, 92, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025. She was born in Hamburg, Germany, on September 19, 1932. During a visit to New York in the late ’50s, she met her future husband while out dancing with friends. She later settled in St. Charles, Illinois, where she built a life filled with love, laughter, and community.

Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Henry Dibbern and a devoted mother to Andreas Dibbern and the late Angela Dibbern. Her strength, kindness, and deep love for her family were the heart of her life. She is also survived by daughter-in-law Karen Dibbern and grandchildren Bianca and Erek Dibbern.

Ruth was full of joy and energy. She loved to dance, travel, and sing in the Elmhurst Harmonie German choir, always embracing her heritage and passions. She enjoyed the outdoors, had a wonderful sense of humor, and loved to laugh. Time spent with friends over coffee and cake brought her great happiness, and she cherished those connections deeply.

Ruth will be remembered for her warm heart, vibrant spirit, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her. She will be dearly missed.

A private family service will be held to honor her life.  She will be surrounded by loved ones once again at her final resting place in Hamburg.
