Russell Gene Chancey

On 10/05/2023, Russell Gene Chancey died unexpectedly in Cypress, TX. He was 60 years old. Russell is survived by his mother Olene Chancey, his children Ashley Chancey with granddaughter Mackaylyn and Amber Hamilton with husband Christopher and granddaughter Cellestia, grandson Wyatt, grandson Owen and siblings Vonnia Gampher with husband Eddie and Albert Patrick Chancey Jr with wife Holley. Also from a previous marriage stepdaughter Tara Duncan with husband Jason with granddaughter Brianna, grandson Bryce, and grandson Brent and stepson Jason Reed with granddaughter Aria. He is preceded in death by his father Albert Patrick Chancey Sr, Uncle Russell Allen Chancey, Aunt Pauline Willis, and cousin Jetta Chancey. Russell was born on 08/14/1963 in Houston, TX. He graduated from New Caney High School in 1983 and started working in construction during that time. After high school he worked with his Uncle Russell in a lumber mill where his brother-in-law, Eddie, convinced him to move into fire protection. This is where Russell found his calling. Russell was a very charismatic, caring, loving, funny man who was full of life. He always had a smile for everyone. There was never a stranger in his presence. His charitable actions made lifelong friends and kept him in the good graces of so many. Russell enjoyed working with his hands. He was creative and inventive. If the lawn mower broke, you needed brakes changed, or wanted an old fan turned into a nutcracker, he would find a way to get it done. The world is a little less bright without him in it.
