Rosie Mejorado

February 25, 1946 — March 8, 2025

Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day.

Rosie Mejorado, 79, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 25, 1946, in Sugar Land, Texas, to Gabriel Mirelez and Micaela Jalomo, Rosie was a devoted wife, sister, mother, stepmother, aunt, cousin, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished her family more than anything else and was a source of love, strength, and guidance to those around her.

Rosie had a true green thumb and found great joy tending to her plants and flowers. She could make anything grow, filling her home and garden with life and beauty. She nurtured her plants the same way she nurtured those she loved—with patience, care, and an endless supply of warmth. Whether she was reading a good book, dancing to her favorite music, or surrounded by the people she loved, Rosie embraced life with kindness and grace. Her laughter, generosity, and gentle spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gilberto Mejorado; her children, Melinda Gonzales and her husband Felix, and Rene Gonzales and his wife Monica; her stepchildren, Minerva, Ralph, Oscar, Mario, and Robert; and her sisters, Angie, Florinda, Janie, and Irma. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Stacy, Brittany, Ricky Lee, Joey, Felicia, Brianna, and Isaac, and was also blessed with many great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy. In addition, she is survived by her many cherished nieces and nephews, who held a special place in her heart. Rosie’s legacy of love and kindness will continue to bloom in the hearts of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel Mirelez and Micaela Jalomo; her beloved brother, Jesus Mirelez; and her dear sister-in-law, Francisca Mirelez, along with other cherished family members who welcomed her home with open arms.

Like the flowers she so lovingly cared for, Rosie’s love and light will continue to grow in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
