It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rosemary K. Skummer, who departed this life on November 27, 2025, in Sun City Center, Florida, at the age of 88.
Born on January 25, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, Rosemary was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, whose warmth and love left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene J. Skummer. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Lori (Steve Ryan) and Mary (Joe Tooley), along with her treasured grandchildren: Stephanie Courtney, James (Courtney) Courtney, and Steven (Rachel) Ryan, as well her beloved great-grandchildren: Matthew, Aiden and Braelyn Courtney (James). Each of them carries a piece of her spirit and love with them.
A woman of great affection and family devotion, Rosemary was renowned for her collection of family photographs that adorned her home, capturing the love and moments she treasured most. Her vibrancy was palpable, especially in her love for dance, bringing joy not only to herself but to those around her. Rosemary also enjoyed traveling, especially during the years she shared with Eugene, as they explored new places, experiencing the beauty and wonder of the world together.
As we remember Rosemary, we celebrate her remarkable life, filled with love, laughter, and the unwavering bond she shared with her family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, connection, and cherished memories.
