Rose Ann Marchioli

June 2, 1950 — January 9, 2024

On January 9, 2024, Rose Ann Marchioli passed away in Eugene, Oregon at the age of 73. Rose was born on June 2, 1950 in Coos Bay, Oregon. She loved music (especially Elvis), and dancing. She married Richard Marchioli in August of 1978. They remained married until he passed after a long battle with cancer in 1994. That was just 2 years after she suffered a major stroke that rendered her disabled. It was a devastating time for her but she was a very strong woman and was wise to lean on her family though that grief. She was very close with her mother and siblings and enjoyed holidays, bbq's, camping trips as well as many evenings sharing meals and making memories. She was blessed to be an Auntie and really enjoyed her neices and nephews. They too helped her get through a dark time in her life. She would want Anna, RaSheana, TG and Shawntee to know she felt blessed to have them in her life. If you were to ask her what her proudest accomplishments were, she would tell you without hesitation, "My Kids". She simply adored both her son and her daughter and never missed a chance to brag about each of them. She also loved her daughter-in-law January and her 2 children that Rose was thrilled to call her grands as well. The only thing she loved more than her kids were her 8 grandchildren. She spent as much time with each of them as she could. Never missed a birthday and couldn't wait to spoil them at Christmastime. Due to her extreme health problems, she wasn't able to meet some of her great grandchildren. That didnt stop her from falling in love with them through photos and video chats. The love in her heart overflowed for them just the same. Before she lost her ability to drive and walk, one of her favorite past times was rockhounding. There wasn't a rock she didn't like and she brought all of them home! When she wasn't filling her trunk with rocks, you could find her at a garage sale or a thrift store. She loved a good buy, and couldn't resist a nic nac. In her last couple of years, she developed strong friendships that helped her deal with the loss of her favorite activities. We would like to thank TJ and Dennis for being there for her. Rose will be missed greatly by her surviving family, but we are happy to know that she no longer has to be in pain, both physically and emotionally. We give many thanks to the staff, caregivers, and hospice team at Avamere Riverpark for taking such great care of her up to the very last minute. You all made it possible for her to feel at home. No memorial service or funeral is planned. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please consider adding photos or memories or a special tribute on this page. Rose wouldn't want anyone to feel forgotten, so if we have not mentioned someone, please forgive us. We are sad as well. We ask you leave a special tribute for Rose, and know that our mom was loved by so many, the list would have been too long to fit here.
