November 15, 1937 — February 18, 2025

Ronald L. Gerou, 87, passed away on February 18, 2025, at his home due to an illness.

He was a beloved husband and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The son of the late Paul and Alice Gerou (Starr). Ronald was born on November 15, 1937, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This is where he lived through early adulthood.

On March 3, 1956, Ronald married Virginia Lawhorn of Kenosha, Wisconsin, in Woodstock, Illinois.

In Kenosha, he worked at the former American Brass Company. Eventually, he moved to Tucson Arizona and worked at the Anaconda Copper Co. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others. He eventually retired from Walmart.

In his free time, Ronald enjoyed all the luxuries that retirement can afford. But more than anything, Ronald was a devoted husband. He loved spending time with his wife, sharing stories, working in the yard, playing pool, and watching their favorite TV shows. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.

Ronald was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Gerou (Lawhorn); two sisters, Alice Ysenga, Paulette Tredup and two daughters Cheryl Gruber (Smolik) (Paul), Sandra Patsis (Smolik).

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry, Kenneth, Robert and one sister, Patricia (Legler).

His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
