Ronald G Carter

We are heartbroken to share that Ronald G. Carter (Ronnie), 67, passed away peacefully, after a short illness, in Mooresville, North Carolina, on August 19, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on September 12, 1957, in Columbia, South Carolina. Ronnie is predeceased by his parents, Boyd Carter, Jr., and Mary Lou (Thurmond) Carter

Ronnie was known for his quick wit and good sense of humor and was an avid South Carolina Gamecock fan and a friend to many. Ronnie attended Midlands Technical College and spent his early adult years working in the banking industry. Married to Germaine (Combs) Carter (1993-2007), he was determined to lay the foundation for a more stable long-term career when he joined Carolina Eastman Kodak (Dak America), from which he retired after 25 years of loyal service.

He is survived by his children, Hayden Boyd Carter and Addison Haley Carter; his brothers, William (Bill) B. Carter (Janet) and Samuel (Sammy) P. Carter (Gaye); many extended family members; and his girlfriend, Dawne Muncey Snell. Ronnie's friends meant everything to him, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of life service will be held at Radius Church Southside 702 Whaley Street Columbia on September 7th, at 3:00 with a gathering of family and friends afterward, time and place to be determined.

Parking at Radius Church Southside is across the street in the gravel parking area next to 701 Whaley. 

The family would particularly like to thank the doctors and nurses of Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell (Mooresville, North Carolina) for their compassion and care shown to Ronnie in his final days.
