Ronald W. Clark

Ronald W., Clark, Major, U.S.A. (Ret), 78, of Riverview, Fla passed away December 24, 2014. Ronald was born in Indianpolis, Indiana and raised in Martinsville, IN. In his youth he worked as a paperboy for the Reporter and later at Regals Grocery on the square. He graduated from Martinsville High School in 1954. and from Indiana Business College he worked at International Harvester as an accountant in Indianapolis. Ron married Jean Turley in 1957, and joined the National Guard in 1958. In 1963 he went active duty Army. Graduating from Officer Candidate school at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He served tours in West Germany, Korea, Various posts in the United States and Vietnam where among other medals he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star with two Oak Leaf Clusters. He remained on Active Duty until his retirement in 1983. After his retirement, he worked as a civilian at Rock Island Arsenal IL , from 1984 to 1992. Coast Guard Station in Panama City Beach, FL from 1993 to 2001. He and his wife Jean of 55 years enjoyed his full retirement in Sun City Center, FL until her passing in February 2013. He then resided in Riverview Fl until his death. He was a member of St. John the Divine Episcopal Church and was preceded in death by his wife Jean. Survivors include his daughter, Julie Ann Clark, three grandchildren, Phillip Sprengeler, Leanna Mammen and Jacob Clark, three great grandsons, Elijah Mammen, Aaron and Rylan Sprengeler, a sister, Patricia Beasley Rose, two nieces, Danetta Turley and Maria Rose Greene, three nephews, David, Mark and Michael Rose. Memorial service with Military Honors will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at St John the Divine Episcopal Church-East Campus, 1015 Del Webb Boulevard East, Sun City Center, Florida
