Rodney James Rice At his request, there will be no services for Rodney Rice, 68, of Chico. Rodney passed away at his home on February 6, 2016. He was born in Paradise, CA on July 28, 1947 to Henry C. and Mary E. Rice. Rodney attended Paradise High School and Yuba Community College. He is preceded in death by his wife Cathy Rice who passed away in November of 2000. He worked in construction, R.V., and manufactured home maintenance. Rodney enjoyed woodworking, fishing, spending time at Philbrook Lake and driving his Corvette. He is survived by his daughter Kelly Shelburne (Joe) of Chico, step-sons Steve Scott of Paradise, CA, John Scott (Christine) and granddaughter Kelly Scott all of Alexander, Arkansas; brother Robert Rice of Stirling City, CA, and sister Kathy Orr of Redding, CA, as well as grandchildren Jenna Shelburne and DJ Merrill of Chico.
