Robert Hix Pait

Robert Hix Pait, 76, of Columbia, S.C., passed away on January 29, 2024. Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Toni, and three daughters: Nicole Allamon (Chris) of St Augustine, Florida, Beth Jackson (Jeremy) of St Augustine, Florida, and Emily Pait of Lexington, Kentucky. Robert was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Kyle Holsclaw Jr., Jacob Jackson, Marissa Jackson, Ava Allamon, and Charlotte Allamon. Robert was born in Hamlet, North Carolina, the youngest of four children to Richard and Nancy Pait. He is survived by siblings, Richard Pait Jr. of Hamlet, North Carolina, and Carol Christenbury of Cary, North Carolina, and predeceased by his brother, Russell Pait of Hamlet, North Carolina. As a graduate of Pembroke University with a major in History, Robert was an avid fisherman, gardener, hunter, and diver. He was a lifelong fan of the Carolina Tarheels. Robert will be remembered for his witty humor that always had his children and grandchildren laughing. The family wishes to honor Robert’s passing with a celebration of life on April 6, 2024, at 12:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Hamlet, 300 Charlotte Street, Hamlet, North Carolina, 28345. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to The First United Methodist Church of Hamlet. The South Carolina Cremation Society is assisting the family.
