Paulette A. Blackmon, 73, of Gloversville, NY, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 16, 1952, in Amsterdam, NY, to the late Nelia (Bliss) Galway. She was a graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh with a Bachelors in Education. After completing her degree, Paulette went on to work at Taylor Corporation (where she met her husband Tom), The Family Counseling Center, and the Mental Health Association. However, her longest tenured job was that of a stay-at-home mother, for her children, and countless foster children over the years. Helping others was her passion, whether that was through her employment, family, or years of fostering. She was also a parent advocate for CSCE.

Before her passing, Paulette made a list of her favorite things, and they go a long way in telling her story; Ocean City New Jersey with Family, Large Holiday Gatherings, Family Fun Night, Cocktail Parties, X-Mas Eve, Camp, Maine, and hosting dinner parties with her husband Tom. Paulette was a beautiful soul, and we will always carry her memory in our hearts.

She was predeceased by her mother Nelia (Nana).

Paulette is survived by her husband Tom Blackmon; daughter Elizabeth (Alex) Fuller; as well as her sons Caleb Blackmon, Ryan Blackmon, and Gregory Blackmon.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 4:30pm to 6pm at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Steward Family Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12010. A service of remembrance will be held at 6pm with Rev. Laurie Garramone officiating. There will also be a reception with refreshments following the services at the Johnstown Area Community Center, 2 Prindle Ave, Johnstown, NY, 12095 starting at 7PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paulette's memory to the Albany Medical Center, Children's Miracle Network or Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter.
