Lifelong Amsterdam resident Patricia Ann (Deal) Morreale, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s.

Pat was born on November 22, 1936, in Albany to the late Bernice (Pryzbylo) and Joseph Deal. She graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School and went back to school later in life to earn her college degree. She worked for the New York State Department of Tax and Finance for 19 ½ years until her retirement. On August 26, 1967, she was united in marriage to Umberto “Albert” Morreale. They spent over 40 cherished years together until his passing in 2009. They lost their dear son Daniel on September 8, 2007.

Patricia was an avid rose gardener and was a member of the Capital District Rose Society. She earned the title of Master Rose Gardener and even served as a certified Horticultural Rose Judge. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church and assisted as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. It was during this time that her and Al ran the bingo kitchen together. Pat was also a past Chapter President of the Columbiettes Christian Women’s Society (Schenectady Council). She had a passionate love for animals, especially cats, and over the years she helped care for and find loving homes for many strays.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Umberto, son Daniel, and parents Bernice and Joseph Deal. Pat is survived by her brother Robert (Elaine) Deal; niece Brenda (Michael) Dodig; nephews Richard and Joseph Deal; along with many great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff at Wilkinson for the excellent care and hospitality they showed Patricia for the last 11 years.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held for Patricia on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 11am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 39 Saint John St, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Family and friends are invited to call prior to mass starting at 10am. A private burial will take place at St Mary’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
