Pamela Kathryn Coda (Schettler), age 82, passed away on September 25, 2025, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Born on March 16, 1943, in Bay Village, Ohio, Pam attended St. Augustine Academy before moving to Dayton for nurses training at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, where she earned her registered nursing degree and began a life of service tending to the sick, frail, and dying. She dedicated the next 45 years to her profession, touching the lives of thousands of patients with her clinical expertise, deep compassion, and unwavering commitment to care.

Pam exemplified the true spirit of a caregiver—not only to through her professional life, but also in her relationships with family, friends, and community. Fearless in her dedication to helping others, she was a champion for the vulnerable and formed countless lifelong friendships along the way.

Pam’s greatest joy was her family. She raised three daughters who were blessed by her unconditional love, guidance, and support. In 1983, she remarried the love of her life, Emil Coda, and together they created years of new adventures and treasured memories.

Outside of her professional life, Pam enjoyed golfing, traveling, and spending time with friends playing games, particularly during lively games of bridge. She possessed a sharp wit, a wonderful sense of humor, and a gift for making others smile. Her warmth, laughter, and lighthearted spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Pam is survived by her daughters, Colleen Cobey (Roanna Brazier), Denise Cobey, and Diane Cobey; her brother Greg Schettler and sister-in-law Connie Schettler; and her nephew Brian Schettler (Heather). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Emil Coda; her parents, Kathryn and Edward Schettler; and her nephew Matthew Schettler.

In accordance with her wishes, no formal service will be held. Pam hoped her family and friends would celebrate her life in their own meaningful way. Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who offered love, prayers, and support during her illness—she felt your love deeply. They would also like to recognize the wonderful people at LifePath Hospice of Tampa who cared for Pam with compassion and care.

Pam will be dearly missed, but her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with Emil, and reunited once again with those she loved.
