Obituary

Rosemarie Intrieri (a.k.a) RoRo (67) born on September 25, 1957 in Suffern, NY to the late Rita (Foley) and Frank Intrieri of West Haverstraw, NY, where she lived most of her life. Rosemarie passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025 at the Pine Valley Rehab/Nursing Facility in Spring Valley, NY.

RoRo was loved and adored by her family and all who knew her. Many cherished memories of her will live within our hearts forever. She loved spending time with her family and her many adoring friends. She had a passion for cooking her famous dishes and baking for all she knew, as she never wanted to see anyone go hungry. She was known for her Italian cookies and Irish Soda Bread. Every St. Paddy's Day she would bake many loaves to give out to family and friends. We will miss those smells coming from our kitchen. As a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, during many working fires, she would be at the firehouse making sure she would have enough meals prepared for all the firemen. Being a gambler at heart, on any given night you could find her in a Bingo hall, which was one of her favorite past times, or at a deli buying scratch off tickets and playing her long list of daily numbers. She was a dedicated 30 year member and past President of the Volunteer Hose Co. #2 in West Haverstraw, NY Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Columbiettes in Haverstraw, NY.

Rosemarie was always ready and willing to help out our community in any way she could. For many years, she worked as a Barmaid / Waitress at Dunnigan's Bar & Grill in West Haverstraw.

Rosemarie leaves behind one brother, John Intrieri of Garnerville, NY, two sisters Judy Hixon of Maryland and Joanna Intrieri of Garnerville, NY. She is also survived by nephews Donald (Hook) Hixon Jr., Richard Hixon (Bret), Michael Hixon, all of Maryland and Frankie Samoya Matos (USMC) of West Haverstraw, NY; one niece, Kimberly (Eric) Weaver, of PA. Along with many cherished cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Rita and Frank, one brother Victor, and her brother-in-law Donald Hixon, Sr. We would like to thank the staff at Pine Valley for the care they gave Rosemarie during her stay. A special thank you to Lenore Masullo, Rosemarie's social worker, and family friend for all her help, kindness and compassion she gave to Ro and to our family thorughout her stay at the rehab.
