IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rose Marie
Stabile
March 28, 1928 – October 3, 2024
Rose Marie Josephine (Tavolacci) Stabile passed away on Thursday, October 3rd, at the age of 96. She was born to Frank and Rose Tavolacci in Bronx, NY, on March 28, 1928. She spent the majority of her life in the Bronx until moving to Haverstraw, NY in 2012 to be closer to her family.
Rose Marie lived a life characterized by her exemplary love, kindness, humor, faith, and devotion to others; especially to her family and friends. She was a proud 50+ year, gold card carrying member of the Columbiettes at Mary, Queen of Peace in the Bronx and was an active member of her church community. She was a prolific reader, would often spend her free time knitting/crocheting, enjoyed traveling- especially if it involved going anywhere a slot machine was available, and, after moving to Rockland County, could typically be found at Hogan's/Stony Point Family Diner, which was her favorite Thursday night hangout spot. An exceptional story teller, she treasured any opportunity to spend time with people; to share in good conversation that always included some of her many entertaining anecdotes.
Rose Marie is pre-deceased by her parents, as well as her two brothers, Anthony and Frank. In 1953, she married the love of her life, Mario Lawrence Stabile- a marriage that would see more than 50 years of cherished memories until his passing in July of 2010. She is survived by their two children and their spouses, Stephen (Patrice) Stabile and Carol (Frank) Lomascolo, as well as their four grandchildren, Kristen (Chris) Hubbard, Frank Lomascolo, Robert (Anne Lucke) Stabile, and Danya (Jason) Marlette. Rose Marie lived to see the birth of six great-grandchildren (with a seventh on the way), each of whom were a tremendous joy to her.
The family will receive visitors at TJ McGowan and Sons Funeral Home at 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY on Thursday, October 10th from 4-8pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Gregory Barbarigo Church in Garnerville, NY on Friday, October 11th at 11:15am. Internment will be at Gate Of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
