Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rose Janusz, wife, mother, sister, and friend to many.  Rose departed this world on February 21, 2024 at the age of 46 leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, courage, and kindness.

Rose Allen Janusz nee Jesse, was born on July 14, 1977 in Roseburg, Oregon. She was a proud Milwaukie, Oregon resident, deeply connected to her community in and around Portland. She never strayed too far from the city she called home, spending her adult life and raising her family in the community where she grew up.

A devoted mother, Rose's love knew no bounds. Her home was a haven of love and laughter, where family and friends gathered to share in the joy she created. Rose's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of colleagues, neighbors and many friends.

She pursued her love for learning by earning a degree in Psychology and Sociology from Carroll College and a Master of Arts in Teaching in Social Sciences at Concordia University. Her commitment to knowledge and intellectual growth was evident throughout her life.

Rose was a beloved teacher in the North Clackamas School District. She dedicated nearly 24 years to shaping the minds of young learners at both Sunrise and Happy Valley middle schools where she taught History and Social Sciences. Her impact on teaching went far beyond the classroom, advocating for Social Sciences curriculum at the State capitol, guiding students on trips to New York and Washington D.C., and volunteering as a high school soccer coach out on the pitch.

The lake, the forest, the park, the bike trail, the Redwoods, the beach, were all happy places where she shared her love of the outdoors with her children.

Rose is survived by her husband David Janusz, beloved children Siena Rose and Luca Gianni Janusz, her mother Joy Lynn Jesse, brothers Joseph Martin Jesse (Jennifer), Patrick Anthony Jesse and Vincent F. Jesse, nieces and nephews Blake Jesse, Morgan Jesse, Jackson Jesse, William Jesse and a large extended Janusz family. She is preceded in death by her father William Forrest Jesse.

A time and date to gather and celebrate Rose's life will be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Women's Foundation of Oregon in Rose's honor here . https://support.womensfoundationoforegon.org/campaign/561645/donate
