Lydia C. Medrano passed away peacefully on May 8,2025, at the age of 95 after a nearly two- decade battle with Alzheimer’s.

Lydia was born in El Salvador and arrived in New York in 1967, making Rockland County her home. Where she had to opportunity to earn her associates in Child Psychology. After retirement from the food service industry, she went on to enjoy semi-retirement working with young children at HEP Day Care and the North Rockland School District. She was known for her love of traveling and gardening. She is survived by her son Edgar Cerna and daughter Ana Lillian Cerna, her grandchildren Karen Brizuela, Kris Brizuela, Krystal Cerna, dear friend Isabel Torres and wonderful caretakers.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Friday, May 30, 2025, 4pm-8pm at TJ McGowan’s 133 Broadway Haverstraw, NY. Mass will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, 9am at St. Peter & St. Mary’s at 115 Broadway Haverstraw, NY.
