Obituary

Josephine Slawinski, 94, of Garnerville, New York, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025. Born on February 26, 1931, in Poland, Josephine’s life was a testament to perseverance, love, and dedication. A hard‑working and loving woman, she built a meaningful life rooted in faith, family, and craftsmanship.

After immigrating from Poland, Josephine brought with her not only a deep appreciation for her heritage but also a remarkable talent as a seamstress. Her skill and patience were reflected in every garment she touched, each stitch a symbol of care and commitment. She shared her gifts generously, helping neighbors, friends, and family with her artistry and gentle spirit.  Josephine’s steadfast devotion to her Catholic faith provided comfort and guidance throughout her life. She cherished time spent with her large and loving family, who were a constant source of joy and pride.  She is survived by her children Juliette La Roux and Peter Slawinski; her cherished grandchildren Joseph, Renee and Jack; her great grandchildren  Roman, Ella, Lily, Braxton, and Brayden; and many extended family members who will remember her warmth and strength.  Josephine was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Wladyslaw Slawinski. Her life and legacy of love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
