Joseph M. Bongiovanni, 73, of West Haverstraw, NY, died on August 8, 2020. Joe was born on June 10, 1947 in Messina, Sicily, Italy, to Giuseppina Sblendore Bongiovanni and Francesco Bongiovanni. He graduated from Haverstraw High School. Joe was a proud United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War and later as a member of the Army National Guard and the Army Reserves. Joe was a carpenter with Local 964, New City, NY and later the owner of Avanti Enterprise Home Improvement Company. He is a life member of the American Legion and Chapter 333 of the Vietnam Veterans. Joe is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diane Bongiovanni (nee Veno), his two loving sons Joseph Jr. and Anthony (Christine), as well as his cherished grandsons Nicholas Bongiovanni, Parker Willis (mother Mary Willis) and Jayden Mulhern. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Anthony Veno and numerous cousins and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
