Obituary

John M. Hoban, A resident of Garnerville since 1970, passed away on December 28, 2024.  He was born in Clinton MA on November 3, 1935.  John graduated from Clinton High School in 1953, and Worchester Polytechnic Institute 1957 with a chemical engineering degree.  After college he served as 2nd Lt. in the Signal Corp., attaining the rank of 1st Lt. at the time of his discharge.

Mr. Hoban was a sales engineer for Foxboro Co. and Honeywell Inc. in NYC and then began a career in computer graphics with Applicon and Auto-Trol Technology.  In his retirement he spent 12 years at Jawonio, serving people with disabilities and special needs.  John also delivered Meals On Wheels to people for over 10 years.

Mr. Hoban was active into his 70's.  He enjoyed hiking in Harriman State Park, ice skating at Bear Mountain, as well as family trips, especially to Cape Cod.  He was a diehard Red Sox fan having to live in Yankee territory with a diehard Yankee fan!

John was the son of James and Anna Hoban of Clinton MA.  He is survived by his wife, Carole, sons John and Brian of Garnerville, daughter Eileen Moran of Quincy MA and two grandchildren Colleen and Sean.

Burial will be private. A memorial mass will be celebrated at a later date.
