Irene Muth was born January 29, 1931 to William and Elizabeth Gerhardt in Flasher, North Dakota. She passed peacefully on February 5, 2023 at the age of 92, surrounded by family, in Portland, Oregon. She married Clarence Muth on July 1, 1952 in St. Anthony, North Dakota. Irene and Clarence moved from North Dakota to the Pacific Northwest shortly after they were married and raised their five daughters in the Portland area. Irene worked at Sears Roebuck for approximately 15 years. Irene enjoyed spending time with her family, celebrating holidays, family gatherings, and cooking for her children and many grandchildren. Irene was a lover of craft projects like embroidery and, also enjoyed completing word searches. A few of her other hobbies included social gatherings at the senior center, playing bingo, taking trips to the beach, and weekend road trips. Irene is survived by her daughters, Linda (Mark), Pam (Patrick), Dorothy (Bob), Elizabeth (Mark), Peggy, her seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and three great-great-granddaughters. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, her parents and siblings, and one granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Salvation Army or Providence ElderPlace, in her memory.
