It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frederick J. Brodany on January 11, 2024. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Fred was born on January 12, 1948, in Bronx, NY. He worked as a Switchman at Verizon for 42 years and proudly held the role of Chief Steward for CWA Local 1101. He enjoyed music, golf, cooking, and watching the Giants. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His departure will leave behind a void that will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Ann Marie Brodany, his daughter Lisa Gaffney, his son John Gaffney, and his 3 grandchildren Olivia Powell, George Powell, and Giovanni Gaffney. A visitation to celebrate Fredś life will take place on Tuesday, January 16 from 4-8 at TJ McGowan Funeral Home, 71 North Central Highway, Garnerville, NY. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday. 10 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Stony Point, followed by interment at St. Anthonys Cemetery in Nanuet.
