It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Frank Valente (87) of Garnerville, NY on June 27, 2025 after suffering a short illness. Frank was born Francesco Valente in the town of Bisceglie, Italy on April 18th, 1938. Frank came to the Bronx in 1958 joining his family to start a new life. Frank was a renowned flooring installer who worked across the tri-state area, mostly New York state. He loved to tell stories of his early days working on many of the schools, universities, and hospitals across the area. His business Gramatan Floors in Mount Vernon let him fulfill his dream of owning his own business. Frank was an avid bowler for over 50 years. He bowled four perfect 300 games and continued to bowl through his later years. He loved to garden and many of us were privileged to enjoy his yearly harvest.  Frank had an easy way that helped him make friends wherever he went. He loved to be around his friends, especially playing cards, bowling and attending the Senior Center. He was always ready with a story or a joke. His good nature and loving personality were only outdone by the strength he provided to those around him.

In the Bronx, he met his loving wife Rosemarie (Negrini) Valente who passed before him in February of 2022.  He missed her very much. Together they had two children, Camille and Dominick, and built a life together in Ardsley, New York. Frank was a devoted husband and dedicated father who took great pride in the accomplishments of his children.  His love of his granddaughters knew no bounds. Frank is survived by his daughter Camille Valente-McGuire and her husband Craig McGuire of Garnerville NY, his son Dominick Valente and his wife Kristen Valente of Bedford NY, and by his granddaughters Francesca and Sofia Valente. Frank will be missed by his sisters Elisa Consiglio and Maria Sirico, and her husband Frank Sirico. Frank leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends, and countless others. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 4pm-8pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville, NY. There will be a funeral mass for Frank at Immaculate Conception church in Stony Point on July 8,  2025 at 10:00 am.
