IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frank Ning
Fong
May 21, 1938 – February 26, 2025
Frank Fong, Jr was born on May 21, 1938, in Portland, Oregon, and passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at age 86, due to Alzheimer's. Frank attended Washington High School. He joined the US Marine Corp Reserves in June 25,1960 and received his Honorable Discharge on May 20,1963. He worked for the Oregonian Newspaper Company for several years and then as distribution manager for RFD Publications for 31 years. In his early years, Frank enjoyed hot rod racing and participated in drag races with his customized 1957 Chevy Bel-air named the "Ford Duster". He also had a love for Corvettes. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He also coached Little League Baseball for 11years. After retirement, he moved to Las Vegas, NV, to be able to golf year round and resided there for 25 years. He moved back to the Portland area into an adult assisted living community after the passing of his wife. Frank had a personality that whoever he encountered became friends. He was always cheerful, personable, considerate and respectful to everyone. One of Frank's coworkers stated that the men's bathroom stall had negative quips written on the walls about other coworkers but one stated, "Frank is great". Frank was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Fannie Fong, by his wife of 60 years, LaDonna and brother Herbert Fong. He is survived by sons Damon and Derick (Rick) Fong, daughters-in-law, Rhianna Stephens and Angie Fong. His grandsons, Jacob and Clay Fong. His sister, Shirley (Suzy) Fong. Other family members are sister-in-law, Theresa Fong, brother-in-law, Jeffrey Lockwood. Although Frank is no longer with us, he will be remembered as a thoughtful and caring person. Always happy and easy going. We would like to thank and acknowledge Providence Newberg Medical Center and their nursing/medical staff for the compassionate care they provided Frank. We especially appreciate their Care Management Department who was instrumental in his care after discharge. We also appreciate the Providence Hospice team. They were wonderful. Lastly, we are so appreciative of the staff at Loving Hands Adult Home. Frank was happy, well cared for and was at peace. There will be a grave side memorial service at Willamette National Cemetery on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 10:15 am. 11800 S.E. Mt Scott Blvd, Happy Valley, OR. Reception will follow after the service. Please message Damon Fong on Facebook if you plan on attending.
