IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dennis Edward
O'Shaughnessy
June 2, 1949 – September 22, 2025
Dennis Edward O'Shaughnessy, 76, of Cannon Beach, Oregon passed away peacefully at his home on September 22, 2025. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Denny was born in Portland, Oregon on June 2, 1949 as the second of six children to Sam and Alice O'Shaughnessy. He took great pride in growing up in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Southeast Portland in the 1950's and attended Sacred Heart Parish and Elementary School alongside his five siblings. He served in the US Marines from 1968-1969.
Denny dedicated his working years to Columbia Empire Meat Company for over 60 years as a truck driver then salesman for the company. In his free time he enjoyed listening to music, driving classic cars and working on projects in his yard or home. He was a regular in the coffee shops of Cannon Beach and would enjoy his morning coffee or afternoon decafinated mocha.
Most of all he loved his family, particularly his three beloved grandchildren. Denny had love for everyone, regardless of their background, and to know Denny was to love him.
Denny is survived by his son Jake O'Shaughnessy of Portland, Oregon; his daughter Brooke O'Shaughnessy of Portland, Oregon; his beloved grandchildren, Lilly, Quinn and Avery; and his siblings John, Kathy and Maureen. He was proceeded in death by his brother Tom, sister Mary and black lab Ernie.
A service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on December 4th, 2025, starting at 9am. There will be a reception afterwards and he will be interred at Willamette Natiuonal Cemetery.
