Carmine DiPietro, 99, of Stony Point, passed away on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025 of natural causes at Northern Riverview nursing home.   Carmine was born, Carmelo Emilio DiPietro, in Boston, Massachusetts on January 30, 1926 to Dominic and Maria (Pignatelli) DiPietro. He was one of 4 children.  Carmine left high school at the age of 18 to join the Navy.  He served his country from December 1944 to December 1945 when our servicemen were sent home. Carmine worked as a brick layer as his father before him.  He worked on many of New Jersey and New York’s Hospitals and Schools and was a member of the 1ST Union Bricklayers and Travel Trades International and BAC Local 4 unions. Carmine married the love of his life Jean (Vita) Mercurio on June 22, 1947. The couple had two very special sons whom they devoted their lives to.  Carmine took care of his sons up until the day he was rushed to the hospital with a severe skin infection which ultimately caused his death.  His dying wish was that his boys stay together in their home. Carmine is survived by his two sons, Robert DiPietro and Steven DiPietro of Stony Point, his sister Enis (Catherine) (DiPietro) Fiori, sister-in-law Marion (Mercurio) McLaughlin, and over 50 nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his loving wife Jean (Mercurio) DiPietro, his brother Frank DiPietro, his sister Josephine (DiPietro) Davila, his sisters-in-law Catherine (Mercurio) Squillante, Dorothy (Mercurio) Squillante, and Agnes (Mercurio) Herald, along with their husbands, and his brother-in-law Rocco Mercurio and wife. Uncle Carmine will be missed by his sons and family, including a great nephew named after him, and his son’s caretakers who were family to him. Bobby’s special message to all is “I love you a lot dad and I want everyone to know you were a good dad to me and Stevie”.   Carmine will be laid to rest on Wednesday, June 25th, at 11 am at the All Faiths on the Hill Mausoleum in George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, New Jersey.
