IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Biagio
Pantano
October 8, 1934 – April 27, 2025
Biagio Pantano, known to many as Zio or Uncle Biagio, passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2025 surrounded by family after 90+ years of a vivacious life. Born in San Pierro Patti, Italy where he made is living as a Blacksmith. He then moved to the States with his brother Carmelo (pre-deceased) and sister-in- law Caterina to achieve the American dream. And that he did! He was a successful businessman where the community knew him well from Pantano Bros Market in Haverstraw, an extraordinary stand-in grandfather, authentic Italian chef and the master of all trades. On any given day you could find him hanging out at the "shed" taking a mid-day siesta or in his garden growing the most delicious tomatoes to make homemade sauce and pizza from, in addition to his homemade wine. He will be missed by all but specifically by those he is survived by and spent his days with: his sister Maria Limer, sister-in-law Caterina Pantano, nieces & nephews Carmela Pantano, Gracie McGannon (Bob), Mary McGannon (Kenny), Gina Nishanian (Jeff), Angela Alexander (Ed), Gino Limer, Franca Grall (pre-deceased) (Mike) and Raymond & Veronica Salto along with countless number of great nieces and nephews near and far. Till we meet again, your bellas and bellos will always love and miss you.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 4pm-8pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville, NY. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, 11am at St. Peter's Cemetery, Haverstraw, NY.
