Barbara Ann (Kollas) Forni, age 79, of Milwaukie, Oregon, passed away December 6, 2024, in her home after a long battle with cancer.
Barbara was born on September 25, 1945, to Will and Bertha Kollas in Portland, Oregon, the youngest of four children. She attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School and graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Portland, Oregon, class of 1963. She earned two Bachelor of Science Degrees, one in Accounting and the other in Business Administration from Portland State University. In August 1973 she married Donald Forni and in June 1978 had a son, Anthony David Forni.
After raising her son at home, she worked as a controller for Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership for 17 years prior to her retirement in 2015.
In Barbara's spare time she enjoyed horseback riding and caring for her horse, dog sitting for her son's Great Dane, studying the Bible, spending time at her beach house, cooking in the kitchen, and socializing with her high school classmates and church friends.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Donald, and son, Anthony. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert, and sister Carolyn.
A rosary service will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Milwaukie, Oregon on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 2:00 PM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:30 PM. A catered reception in the parish center will follow the service. A private interment will take place the following day at Portland Memorial.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis TN 38101-9929
