Ana Lydia Saavedra passed away peacefully on Friday, December 20, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was 79 years old. Ana was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on January 6, 1945 to Solano Garcia and Elena Cancel Garcia. She came to the United States as a young girl with her family where they lived in the Bronx. She graduated from Central Commercial in Manhattan, NY. She married Raymond Saavedra, and married in 1964 and they had two daughters.  She later on became an Insurance Broker and worked in the insurance field for many years and for various insurance agencies, and that is where she retired from. Ana loved to play Mahjong with the ladies, she loved to travel, go out to dinner, and just enjoy life, but her greatest joys came from her family. She will be missed by all who knew her. Ana is survived by her loving children Lorie Saavedra-Ramirez and her husband John Ramirez, and Valerie Saavedra-Norbeck, her cherished grandchildren Johnathan Ramirez and Alec Norbeck.  Ana was predeceased by her son-in-law Warren Norbeck, and her granddaughter Erica Lynn Kessler.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2024 from 4pm-8pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY. Mass will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, 11am at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church in Garnerville, NY, followed by a private cremation.
