Alma A. Miller passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 13,1932 to Joseph & Joephine Vaccaro and the family moved to Haverstraw.  She was a graduate of Haverstraw High School and was a majorette for many years. Alma was an avid golfer, loved to swim and travel. Alma worked at the West Haverstraw elementary school as Teachers Assistant for many years and she was also a member of the West Haverstraw and Stony Point Seniors, a volunteer for Nyack Hospital and Helen Hayes gift shops for many years.  The one thing that she loved the most was music and dancing. Music brought her joy and happiness. During the last few years, she has been battling Alzheimer's, but music and dancing kept her going. Along with many wonderful caregivers that loved her very much.

Alma is predeceased by her four sisters, Vivian Vaccaro, Jean Granata, Blondie Wolk, Rose Malone and her great-grandson Karson Hansen.  She is survived by her four children, Linda Petrosky (Joseph), Robert Miller (Elizabeth), Gary Miller Sr. (Jamie) and Jeffrey Miller. Alma is also survived by four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren whom she adored!
