Nikolos Von Emery, known to many as Yael, passed away by accident on July 27, 2023, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 34. He was born on August 26, 1988, in Salt Lake City. Nikolos was a passionate, complicated, rare, wild, and beautiful person who left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
In every aspect an artist; he excelled in drawing, was a brilliant writer, and filled our ears with song. Nikolos's creative spirit shone through his drumming and guitar playing. He could captivate an audience with his talent and passion for music. In addition to his musical pursuits, Nikolos was also an incredible cook who loved to explore dishes from around the world. He would often share his culinary creations with those he loved, leaving them with a taste of his love and creativity.
Imbued with a kaleidoscope of complexity, Nikolos traversed the delicate threads connecting our world and a parallel realm beyond mortal comprehension. He laughed with a kindred and radiant sparkle in his eye, fostering a landscape where wonder and awe intermingled, leaving all who encountered him breathless in his lingering afterglow.
Unbidden grief now clasps the shoulders of Nikolos's family, aching with the weight of remembrance. Nikolos is survived by his son, Camilo Morales; father, Aaron (Steph) Emery; mother, Kimberly Mannos Emery (Zane); sister, Alexis Emery; stepbrother, Nicholas Perry; grandfather, Ivan Emery; grandfather, James (Mickey) Mannos; grandmother, Andrea Gates Burge (Lamont); and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A ceremony to celebrate Nikolos's life will be held in his favorite park on Saturday, September 16th, at 6:00 PM at the Sego Lilly pavilion in Sugarhouse Park. There will be a potluck style dinner. Please bring a dish to share.

Nik will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His artistic talents, love for music, culinary skills, and unique perspective on life will forever be inwrought on our hearts. May his soul rest in peace, may his memory be eternal, and may the remembrance of his exquisite essence bring comfort to those who mourn his loss; for it is through this remembrance that he shall live on in us all.
