Obituary

Natalie A. Sefcik (age 93) of Robb Road in Amsterdam passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2025. The daughter of the late Katherine Przybylo Dybas and Lawrence Dybas, Natalie was born on October 3, 1931. She was a lifelong resident of Amsterdam. Natalie was the wife of Thomas (Tom) Sefcik, whom she married on October 27, 1951. They were married for 68 years at the time of Tom's passing on April 18, 2020.

Natalie was very social and enjoyed playing games at the casino, reading medical books, going out to breakfast, enjoying Polish cuisine and attending General Electric Women's Club quarterly dinners. In her later years, she could be seen smiling and waving to neighbors from her outdoor ramp as they drove past her house. She looked forward to listening to her favorite DJ, First Sergeant "George" Hutton, on WCSS radio every Saturday afternoon. She never missed a show, tuning in to make song requests for friends and family as the Lady on Robb Road. Her favorite song was "Hello Again" by Raul Malo, which she requested every week.

She leaves behind her two loving daughters, Kathy Conway (Ed) and Gail Louison (Mark) of Amsterdam; grandchildren Dena Coffey of Burnt Hills, Kimberly Conway of Maryland, and Evan Conway of Amsterdam; great grandchildren Katie and Ryan Coffey and godchild Beverly Banach. In addition to her husband and parents, Natalie was predeceased by her sisters Helen Sefcik and Ann Dybas, and brothers Albert, John, Edward, and William Dybas.

Natalie was able to live comfortably in the home her husband Tom built for her right up until her recent three-week rehab stay at Capstone Center. Her family would like to thank her dedicated caregiver Sandra Hernandez for her assistance over the last few years.  Thankful also for Doctor George Weis and Doctor Patrick Parisi for the dedicated care they showed Natalie over the many years.
