Michael V. Collins, 72, of Wimauma, Florida passed away on 01/18/2025 due to complications after surgery.

Michael was born on 07/14/1952 to Gertie and Edgar Collins in Traverse City, Michigan. He was raised in the Tampa Bay area. After graduating from Leto High School in 1970, he joined the Marines.

After his service with the Marines, he became a City of Tampa Firefighter and opened a roofing company.

In 1994, Michael met Jeanette Lombardo and went on to raise their 4 children: Christopher Sedell, Craig Harridge, Andrea Harridge, Kevin Collins, and 9 grandchildren.

In 2003, Michael retired and spent his time running a bird farm, traveling, fishing and any activity that included his children. His family was everything to him.

Michael was pre-deceased by his parents, Gertie and Edgar Collins; brothers Johnny Collins and Sean Collins. He is survived by his sisters Patty Palaez, Carolyn Summers, Bessie Vrondren, and Avis Rayo.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 24, 2025, at 4:00 PM at 16125 Alderman Turner Road, Wimauma, FL.
